TerpCorps is a student-led division of the Leadership and Community Service-Learning office in the Adele H. Stamp Student Union at the University of Maryland, College Park. Its purpose is to engage the UMD campus in meaningful community service-learning with the local community through various programs and events including:

Community Partnerships & Outreach, ongoing creation and implementation of partnerships and outreach efforts to local agencies and community members to further develop meaningful relationships.

First-Year Service Initiative, a first-year student service project intitiative. TerpCorps will design and launch the program. Possible events include donation drives, days of service for first-year students, weekend immersion trips, and more.

M-PACT Retreat, a leadership and service-learning retreat for student leaders of service-related student organizations. The M-PACT Retreat committee also conducts on-going outreach and workshop presentations to student service organizations throughout the year.

Service-Learning Workshops, service-learning leadership workshops facilitated through UNIV100 classes using the Leadership and Community-Service Learning module. The Service-Learning Workshop committee also markets and recruits for different TerpCorps events.

Social Justice Initiatives, advocacy and awareness events for different social causes, e.g. Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and World AIDS Day.

Terp Service Days, monthly service days conducted in partnership with different educational departments and student organizations. Their goal is to create a sustainable commitment between students and community partners.

Terp Service Weekend, a yearly service weekend for 300+ UMD students. TerpCorps organizes logistics, conducts site visits to community partners’ locations, establishes student/administrative partnerships across the UMD campus, and facilitates volunteer recruitment.
